Arthur Woodson leads recall against Flint mayor government
FLINT, MI - The Genesee County Clerk Office has confirmed that more than 8,000 signatures were turned in today to unseat Flint Mayor Karen Weaver.
Flint resident, Arthur Woodson, submitted 780 petition sheets to the County Clerk. Woodson who is seeking to recall Weaver over the city’s controversial trash contract turned in the signatures after canvassing neighborhoods for nearly 60 days.

Fighting since the beginning - Arthur Woodson joins activist in fight for clean water and justice in Flint
The residents of embattled Flint, Michigan, had to resume paying their full water bills today, causing outrage among many of them.
The state has formally ended a program that subsidized the water bills of some Flint residents, after a public health crisis that rendered the city's water undrinkable nearly three years ago due to lead contamination.

Arthur Woodson announces bid for mayor
FLINT, MI - Arthur Woodson, the leader of the campaign to recall Mayor Karen Weaver, says he's ready to take her place inside City Hall.
Woodson, 50, announced his campaign for mayor in a news conference Monday, Aug. 14, joining seven other candidates in challenging Weaver for the city's top job.

Corrupt trash company threatens Flint community activist
FLINT, MI - A Flint man could face legal action over his public claims about a company seeking to nab a $17-million contract to haul the city's trash.
Arthur Woodson said he received a legal notice on July 21 demanding he retracts his statements about Rizzo Environmental Services, a company that bid on Flint's garbage but has been told 'no' twice by Flint City Council.
Woodson said he found the letter on the door of his Flint home after statements he made at two city council meetings about the ongoing dispute over the Flint garbage contract.
